Treadly and Me

It's great to see that the Ride of Silence has had advance coverage in a positive story by AAP that's been picked up by several outlets, including The Age in Melbourne:

Processions of cyclists will ride silently through three Australian cities this weekend in memory of those killed each year on their bikes.

The annual Ride of Silence will be held in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane this Saturday at 10am (AEST), following rides in other countries including the United States, Canada, the UK and China on Wednesday.

It looks like a family commitment will keep me away (although I'm still hopeful of getting down to Fed Square) but wherever I am, I'll be in a sombre mood tomorrow morning.

Unfortunate intrusion

These things certainly aren't deliberate, but I think it was a little bit unfortunate the the "How safe is you car?" ad came up along with this article when I read it today, complete with an animated car crash:

It's not really funny, but I couldn't help having a wry smile at that.
